NEW PLACES TO ENJOY WINE: In the South Bay,
unwind at the new Unwined Wine Bar & Shop, 6946 Almaden
Expressway in San Jose. High-tech buddies Dean Madsen (a marketing guy) and Dan
Crouzet-Pascal (a technical sales guy) may have kept their day jobs. But now,
they also have teamed to open their dream project—a wine shop and wine bar with
plasma TVs tuned to sports and the Food Network.
The store sells more than
200 wines from California and around the world; and the bar features about 40
wines by the glass (six ounces) or taste (two ounces), as well as cheese, meat
and olive plates, and chocolate truffles. Wednesday nights feature wine tasting
events from 5:30 to 8, with winery representatives.
