UNWINED Artists
UNWINED is proud to support our community and work with talented local artists. We not only display their work at UNWINED, but occasionally hold artists receptions to allow the local artists to meet with their admirers and display more of their work. Check out the Whats New page or you weekly UNWINED Newsletter to learn of the next artists showing.
Ben Leone - Ben is the newest local artist represented at UNWINED. His paintings capture the excitement, the trepidation, and the free spirit of a teenager growing up in the 60's.
"Flashback" ... the British invasion, the Summer of Love ... when music and innocence changed forever.
As Ben says, "No longer playing drums in a garage band or playing at senior proms. I've instead chosen to express through oil on canvas, the euphoria of a "Flashback", reflecting on a period of my life that remains vivid and alive through the imagery and colors I've chosen to employ."

Alyssa Lichtenstein - a gifted young artist based in San Jose whose work has been displayed in many local venues and events throughout the Bay Area. Although interested in all types of art, from painting murals to making jewelry, her favorite media has always been watercolors due to the translucent quality of the colors, and the way they layer and affect each other. As a result, while she also paints with acrylics and oils, her work is always reminiscent of watercolors.
Instead of shading with black or a complimentary hue, she works around the color wheel, using the proceeding color for shadows, giving a sense of depth while keeping the colors bright and pure. Painting the colors within other colors works to create the illusion of light, since color itself is light, and objects take on the "local color" of their surroundings due to the reflection of light.
